SERVICE DESCRIPTIONS

BODYWORK

We offer a broad spectrum of bodywork therapies for individuals, pairs, and even groups (i.e. TWOgether Massage, Wellness Parties of 4 and 8).

HighVibe Massage & Bodywork

HighVibe Massage & Bodywork is an integrative therapeutic treatment that customized to support your expressed, assessed, and discovered needs using one or more techniques, including: Swedish, Deep Tissue and/or Myofascial Massage, Neuromuscular Therapy (Trigger Point Therapy), Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki Therapy, Stretching, Stretching, Thai Metta Bodywork, Specialized Kinesiology, Reiki, Acupressure,  . . .

Typically, when muscles are causing pain it is due to one group of muscles being tight and contracted in response to physical/energetic stress and imbalance while an opposing group is weak and inhibited. When you need a massage for therapeutic reasons, we take the time to find these muscle patterns and bring your body back into balance.

Ashiatsu (Barefoot Massage)

Ashiatsu ("ashi" means foot and "atsu" means pressure) is an ancient form of bodywork brought to us by Buddhist monks. It is an adaptation of an ancient form of barefoot massage using deep compression effleurage (gliding strokes) over the body.

In an Ashiatsu session, the treatment is administered with your therapist's expertly trained feet and gravitational force combined with centrifugal and centripetal movements to bring about a structural change, address chronic soft tissue damage, improve mobility, and relieve the stress, strain, pain, and discomforts associated with modern lifestyle choices.

Correct application also provides deep relaxation and stimulates the lymphatic system of the body. The practitioner uses lotion/oil and gliding motions to achieve a modified

myofascial release that results in structural alignment.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the physiological body system called the cranial system.  Comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. This system effects everything in our bodies from the physical to mental and emotional health.

CST involves using gentle, fluid movements of the bones and tissues of the head, thorax, and hips to enhance the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. Imbalances are corrected in the central nervous system between the cranium and the sacrum, resetting the body’s natural healing potential, and encouraging the release of tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.

Using a soft touch that is generally no greater than 5 grams – about the weight of a nickel – practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it’s effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is an ancient practice that involves forming of vacuum that draws the skin into a therapy wherein the practitioner utilizes various safe, therapeutic-grade cupping instruments to lift tissue with applied suction (aka negative pressure), offering the potential for relief from pain, inflammation, digestive challenges, as well as improved circulation and stress relief.  Cupping therapy can be administered with cups that are applied in a stationary or gliding manner.

Additionally, Lymphatic Drainage Cupping involves a systematic gliding cup sequence focused on  draining and stimulating the lymphatic system for detoxification and improved immune support.

Note: Cupping therapy may leave cupping marks that tend to dissipate within a week. These marks are not bruises.

Deep Tissue & Swedish Massage

While deep tissue massage uses a similar pattern as a Swedish massage, the work is slower, and stimulates the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia; stimulates blood flow, releases tension; and ultimately, helps the body heal and protect itself against future injuries. Deep tissue therapy can be slightly more uncomfortable than a Swedish massage, it should not be painful. It’s important to let your practitioner know how you're doing.

Additionally, you and your therapist should work together to soften the outer layer of muscles to access the deeper ones. You should still be able to breathe deeply into the pressure—it’s important to not hold your breath or contract your muscles to tolerate the deep work. A deep tissue massage also allows you to learn about pressure versus pain and your capacity to “handle” both, which translates into your capacity to “handle” life in general.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha treatments involve using ceramic soup spoons and other Gua Sha tools to lightly scrape the surface of the skin to release trapped energy in the fascia and muscles.

“Sha” is the trapped energy (you could think of it as tension or resistance) that gets released. Whenever there is sha present in the body, the spoon pulls it out through the skin, leaving a  red mark that lasts for 24-48 hours. The red mark comes from blood rushing to the surface and is called pitachae.

The following conditions will often be relieved with Gua Sha:

  • The common cold or flu, especially on the first day of symptoms

  • Repetitive stress injuries

  • Recent injuries that have healed (all broken skin has healed)

  • Certain types of long-term chronic pain

  • Certain kinds of tension headaches

  • Some types of psycho-somatic pain (pain that seems influenced by emotional states)

  • Certain kinds of rashes, such as poison ivy and even shingles (gua sha is done around the area of the rash, not on the rash itself)

Myofascial Release

"Myo" is muscle and ‘fascial’ refers to the fascia or connective tissue that surrounds and attaches to all structures in the body. Fascia is one continuous structure that runs around the whole body like a spider web, where movement or lack of movement in one area affects the movement or lack of movement of the whole system. Trauma (physical, mental and/or emotional), surgery, inflammation, posture and repetitive stress or activity create restriction and decrease in pliability of the fascia which impacts the comfort and function of our bodies. Myofascial Release is the hands-on technique, performed without oils or creams, to optimize overall form and function.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

NMT is a more specific massage technique that focuses on the treatment of trigger points. Trigger points are painful points located within tight bands of muscle that may refer pain to other parts of the body. Pressure, which can vary from light to heavy, is applied to these specific locations to create a specific release. Through the softening of these trigger points, there can be a reduction in pain and an increase in range of motion. It is critical that there is open and honest communication between the patient and the practitioner, as ‘deep’ pressure should be therapeutic and not further damaging to the tissue.

Ritual Bodywork

A Ritual is simply action with intention. All ritual bodywork sessions have been crafted to integrate energetic and spiritual goals with the physical needs by way of blending massage therapy with ceremony and ritual. Session sequence often includes gentle massage/acupressure that stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system so the body and mind are calm; mind/heart alignment work, meditation, and elemental alchemy.

Thai Metta Bodywork

This sacred form of bodywork utilizes vital energy (life force), TMB involves rhythmic compression with gentle rocking, deep therapeutic stretching, breath work, and meditation. The practitioner operates within an energy field of loving kindness, and in a state of mindful awareness. In addition to being deeply relaxing, many people report feeling energetic and light after a session. This work relaxes tight muscles, improves posture and alignment, promotes circulation and restores harmony to mind, body, and spirit. All of the work is done on a mat on the floor, and there is a version of this work that can be practiced on a massage table.

You get the benefit of body therapy, energy healing, and meditation all rolled into one. You don't have to remove your clothes. No lotions are involved. The therapy can be applied on a mat or on a massage table. And it works! From relieving back and hip pain, improving mobility, flexibility, and promoting structural balance and an overall sense of wellbeing, it's a modality that is packed full of benefits to help you optimize your quality of movement, breath, . . . life.

Tibetan Acupressure

Tibetan Acupressure-Compassionate Touch (Tact) is a dynamic three-dimensional healing system that incites the body's natural self-healing abilities. The framework for the treatment is an energetic partnership between us. As your practitioner stimulates reflex points in your body (from the soles of your feet to the crown of your head) with a special twisting motion of their hands and fingers, while simultaneously engaging in a state of mindful meditation and compassionate breathing that radiates loving kindness, you sit comfortably, eyes closed, and allow yourself to be fully present in the moment. Distance Healing is also an option for this form of energy healing.

ENERGY HEALING

Our vibrational frequency is the internal hum that attracts and repels our Life Path experiences. Our vibration can rise or drop depending on our thoughts, emotions, actions, reactions, and interactions with self and the world. Energy Healing Spiritual Journeying involve tapping into the unseen aspects of our being, and can occur in modalities that address the most subtle of energy mechanisms that exist in our bodies to the highest levels of cosmic consciousness.

Ear Acupressure

The National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) protocol is rooted in the indigenous practices of Chinese Medicine's Five Elements Theory, and utilizes ear acu-points to spark deep relaxation, calmness, relief from stress and emotional trauma, improved sleep, and beyond. In a treatment session, which lasts approximately 30 minutes, the practitioner places 1-5 seeds on the appropriate points while the receiver lies on a massage table/Thai Yoga Bodywork mat, or sits in a chair. Thereafter, the recipient rests and allows the treatment to take effect.

Point 1: Sympathetic

Related to disruption in both sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. It has a strong analgesic and relaxant effect on internal organs as it dilates blood vessels.

Point 2: Shen Men

Regulates excitation and inhibition of the cerebral cortex and can produce sedation.

Point 3: Kidney

Strengthening point that can relieve mental weariness, fatigue, and headaches.

Point 4: Liver

Addresses symptoms associated with poor liver functioning and inflammation.

Point 5: Lung

Associated with analgesia, sweating, and various respiratory conditions.

At HighVibe Living, the NADA Protocol treatment can be administered as a singular 30-minute session, or as an add-on during massage, bodywork, or energy healing session.

Meditation

Sounding Bathing: During a sound bath, singing bowls, chimes, voice, and other musical instruments nurture us with powerful, positive vibrations. The harmonic resonance created has a profound effect on the cells, organs, tissues, as well as the circulatory, metabolic and endocrine systems. Sound bathing vitalizes these systems with medicinal nutrients.

Muscle Testing & Energy Kinesiology

We all possess an innate intelligence that knows how to keep us in peak health. When you experience physical or emotional symptoms or disease, the way you are living, eating or thinking is not allowing your innate wisdom to carry out its function to create and maintain maximum health.

The innate intelligence is connected to universal intelligence. Through muscle testing you can tap into the body’s wisdom and get information as to what aspect of your being needs to be addressed (the physical body, diet, thinking, lifestyle, spiritual, environment) and what changes need to be made to bring you back into balance.

There are a wide variety of areas where Energy Kinesiology can be very effective. These include:

  • Addressing musculoskeletal issues, such as muscle aches and spasms, joint inflammation and range of motion problems, headaches and back pain

  • Improving digestion and elimination

  • Discovering an optimal diet and balancing body chemistry

  • Improving sleep and creating greater calmness and peacefulness

  • Boosting energy levels and removing fatigue

  • Enhancing psychological balance and clearing upsetting emotions and traumas Accelerating learning and educational development

  • Optimizing sports and dance performance

  • Enhancing job performance and productivity

  • Vitalizing spiritual development

Reiki

“Rei” means ‘universal energy’ and “ki” means ‘life force.’ Reiki is a technique that involves the transfer of energy from practitioner to patient to enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself. This includes the practitioner both touching the patient as well as having their hands hovering over the patient’s body. Specific techniques are used to restore and balance a person’s life force – physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally.

In addition to serving individuals, we offer Reiki for Two, which is a dynamic healing experience designed to support a pair of friends, family members, lovers . . .

INTUITIVE THERAPIES

Intuitive/Mediumship Reading

As a multi-sensing intuitive and medium, Adriena (Z) Dame sees, hears, feels, and knows that which is not readily apparent. When deceased loved ones are channeled, her work leans into the realm of what is commonly called "mediumship" (communicating with the dead).  She may also utilizes various divination tools to help bring clarity and insight into your current situation and your probable future: Cartomancy (reading Oracle and Tarot cards; pendulum dowsing; rootwork, Shamanic Medicine Wheel, and other tools.

Ritual Manifesting

Ritual Manifesting that is 100% customized and personalized to serve your highest good. It is important that you are clear about what you seek to manifest, and that your soul is free and unencumbered by mindsets that in any way negate your magic. Also, I can only be used as a channel to encourage the manifestation of that which is alignment with your Spirit's Life Path. You may be required to supply Adriena with certain information and/or "ingredients"(i.e. photo, personal items . . .) to bring completeness to the ritual.

Shamanic Journeying

Shamanic journeying is a kind of meditation, combined with focused intention, to enter an expanded state of consciousness. In journeying, a Shamanic practitioner enters a kind of “trance state," which are common in meditation, prayer, or intense life transitions—including birth, orgasm, and death. Trance states can be as light as a heightened feeling of awareness or as deep as the seemingly comatose/unconscious.

During a Shamanic journey, part of the consciousness of the the practitioner is able to detach itself from the body and explore realms that the physical body cannot perceive or move through. The object is not to escape reality, but to venture deeper into it. As the practitioner works on connecting to expanded states of consciousness, a range of "odd, unexplainable, or peculiarly striking" occurrences may transpire, and are catalogued as bits of evidence or data that can be evaluated later. Surprise is an integral part of the shamanic experience. Consciousness often speaks in metaphor and we are continually learning how to be better readers.

Shamanic Medicine Wheel

The medicine wheel is one of the most well-known symbols in Shamanism. The wheel itself is a circle with no beginning and no end, and can help facilitate healing and impart guidance using the energy of the four elements (wind, fire, water & earth), directions (North, East, South & West), color, seasons, life stages, and aspects of self (minds, spirit, emotion, and body). During this session, seekers are guided through a deeply meditative ritual, which involves activating a multi-sensory exploration of higher consciousness.

The four elements are representations of life-force/universal/divine energy. The idea that everything--All That Is, breaks down into one or more of four elements comes from the belief that all things are connected. When the four elements are touched by the fifth element of Spirit, we have life! Thus, without the elements, life cannot exist.

Quantum Journeying

During a session, we connect to the Higher Self to visit past, parallel, or other relevant lifetimes that are affecting your current life. We also channel Spirit Guides, the Angelic Realm, Ascended Masters and Higher Dimensional Beings (aka Wisdom Team) of both seeker and practitioner. These beings are the keepers of information stored in their cosmic memory, information that reflects our entire history--past, present, future, and parallel lives, and ultimately work together to offer assistance, healing, guidance and answers to serve our highest good in our current incarnation.
